Story
The Virginian and Trampas are close to the Canadian border delivering cattle and forced to wait at the remote Inn of the Weary Trapper for payment. While trying to locate the inn, they encounter four French trappers who say they have never heard of the inn. They find the inn which is managed by an ex-Canadian Louis Boissevain in exile and a his fiancé Suzanne Mayo who scammed Trampas several years earlier for a large amount of money. After a meal they retire to their room. The four trappers arrive but go to a shed with Louis to privately discuss their business. They have come to convince Louis to return to Canada to lead a new revolt of the Metis. Later, Trampas comes downstairs to talk to Suzanne. He learns she has gone to prison and lost her son to foster parents in Fargo. She asks Trampas to keep her secret. A man Sturdevant arrives and is followed by the trappers who take Trampas hostage.
