Story
Sonny opens his big mouth saying that truckers were the toughest men in America in a magazine interview, which does not sit well with the USMC. Though he never said that middle-aged truckers were tougher than 20 something Marines, nor did he qualify his statement that specifically would exclude an "apples vs oranges" competition between him and his trucking partner Will, and a USMC basic training company, to see who is toughest. And so they (especially Will) reluctantly accept a challenge by the USMC to partake in five days of basic training to put their money where Sonny's mouth is. But it's not just their money. Many marines and many truckers have money riding on this as well. This fact proves to have interesting ramifications. Also, though their age is against them, they nevertheless manage to redeem themselves. Finally, the bumper sticker on the back of Sonny's truck at the very end reveals a very interesting moral to this story!
