Story
Matron is surprised by the arrival of her long lost son Chris Vestry, who admits being just released from jail for bookmaking. The knave is grateful for a place to stay and attention, seems to have left with her cash stash, yet returns to pay all back with alleged races winnings, but actually took a barman job in a nightclub for the star singer's sake. Matron is found out falsifying Patty's signature on fake adoption papers, but the case becomes mute as the baby is stillborn. A father arrested for protesting against slum lords is released and tempted to meet his illegitimate son.
