Story
After winning a defamation lawsuit filed against the show by the biggest coal executive in America and Trump's friend, Bob Murray, over the things John said about him in Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Coal (2017), John explains how the so-called SLAPP suits like this one work, how their primary purpose is not to prove anything but to stifle free speech and bankrupt the defendants, and how most states do not have laws that prevent rich bad actors from filing them against their critics. The final segment of the show focuses on Murray's newly discovered sexual harassment scandals, and then the grand finale takes the form of a Broadway-style musical extravaganza, where John and his friends sing about Murray in a comically insulting fashion. Also, Trump's longtime adviser Roger Stone is found guilty of lying to and obstructing Congress to protect Trump, and Conservatives keep repeating "Winston Churchill's" quote about young liberals and old conservatives, which isn't actually his.
