Story
Commissario Corrado Cattani accompanied with his wife Else and his daughter Paola is sent to Sicily, where he replaces murdered commisssario Marineo, who was investigating the racketeering of the Mafia (Cosa Nostra). On the first glance it seemed to be a revenge of the Mafia, but officials said that it was the result of an affair between Marineo and the well known and rich comtessa Scialoia, who killed her lover and than commits suicide, leaving behind her drug addict daughter "Titti". To Cattani it is not quite clear and he starts a re-investigation. Leo De Maria his co-worker gets information from the imprisoned brother of his bride-to-be Anna Caruso. De Maria is killed by a hangman of the Mafia.
