Story
Hazell is summoned to the Suffolk coast by an accountant Peter Harlow to determine why he had been left a cottage by the sea by someone called John Greville, someone with whom he apparently had no connection. Someone local has a grudge and there are some strange goings-on, blood on his car, a dead chicken in the toilet, books are missing, papers have been rifled through. Hazell thinks someone is losing out on the will and is trying to scare the new owner away. He calls on his cousin for help and with Harlow's wife Stephanie they discover that Harlow's father had saved Greville's life in WWII and the person with the grudge was none other than the son of Greville's war time 'intended' Mrs Summers, who, after the war, had been discarded for another woman.
