Story
Mr. Hankin describes the Big Bang - but there's plenty of bangs elsewhere, as the builders are in, causing havoc. Before long, there's an electrical fire and everyone is evacuated. While everyone's out the way, Keiran uses the opportunity to look through the belongings left behind in the science lab, but then the smoke becomes overpowering. Outside, Lisa is worried that her Year 7 sister hasn't turned up. Late on the scene, coughing heavily through the pall of smoke is Keiron. When the school reopens, it's with temporary power cables everywhere. Year 7 is introduced to a tarantula - Martin Miller's knowledge is encyclopedic, but his responses seem very literal to sarcastic Maddie Gilks. Either way, Martin is the only one who offers to pick up the spider. Light fingered Keiron almost succeeds in removing an electronic toy from a satchel, but his actions are noticed. There's a late phone call at Lisa's house, but there's no-one there when Lisa rushes to pick it up. Spencer finds his dad...
