Story
In 1990 after finishing her college degree in education 22 year old Christy Walters moves from her hometown in West Virginia bound for Bristol, TN. She has decided to pursue a career as a professional boxer after having success in college in her hobby as an amateur boxer. The gym she trains at doesn't train women, but the trainer, 47 year old Jim Martin, reluctantly gives her a chance to tryout. Impressed with her tenacity he begins training her and she is a success. Even though he knows she's a lesbian, he pursues a romance and marries her. He soon becomes controlling and possessive of her, holding the threat of outing her true sexual orientation to the world convincing her it will destroy her career. Her standing as lightweight champion leads the world to think her life is fine with her career a nationwide success story.
