Story
When Professor Gerald Smaill, an American archaeologist, discovers a golden Byzantine cross in cave in Asia Minor, a disembodied voice threatens him with death. While en route on a cruise ship back to England, he receives additional threats and confides in fellow passenger Father Brown. A secret crypt under a Dover Church has been recently uncovered containing the body of a 13th Century bishop that has been mummified in the Egyptian fashion along with a similar golden cross. Smaill, Brown, and several of the ship's passengers investigate the find and risk the curse that accompanies it.
