Story

Graham Lanier, a cantankerous old man suffering from apparent terminal cancer, refuses to take anything to relieve his pain. A mystery surrounds the man, as well as his relationship with the poor itinerant farm family that he's been staying with. Raymond Massey plays Lanier as well as Dr. Gillespie, but this seems to be of no major significance in the storyline and the resemblance is hardly noticed.
