Story
In the monumental submarine base of La Rochelle on the Atlantic, the Nazi Kriegsmarine (navy) prepares another crew for its latest U-boot, U-612. It's to be the first command of 'heir' Hagen Forster, who is unorthodox and relies on experience men like his by-the-book XO. While rank and file prepare for its maiden trip 'traditionally' with a sea of alcohol and 'curing the last virginity' in a brothel, a 'coward' is condemned to the fire squad. The Alsatian communication tech specialist Frank Strasser is forcibly enrolled as a knavish booze fire can't be repaired in time otherwise. Thus he must delegate to his sister, nurse Simone, the delivery of plans to the resistance, which fails and attracts the collaborating French police.
