Story
Having been shot badly in the head while seeking escaped Clavo's gang's court staff hostage Cathy Gibson in an ambush with Horatio, Eric is rushed to hospital in critical condition but pulls trough, possibly brain-impaired. Clavo escaped with the $1,000,000, removed the GPS-tracer and left Cathy behind, but her minor wounds contradict her abuse claim, she confession having turned his accomplice. General Antonio Cruz, who rejected Clavo when told not to be his biological pa, is in the Brazilian Miami consulate, when Horatio arrives held at gunpoint by the vindictive Clavo, who shoots him fatally and flees trough a secret passage, picking up uncut Sierra Leone blood diamonds. The shooter parking lot guard Keeler saw vaguely dumped his cloths, enough DNA to identify Tanner Wilcox, no proof he shot. The bank traces the money to Joseph Trevi, Clavo's real dad. CSI traces the diamond smuggle and the bullet.
