Story
A triple homicide looks gang related, so the team canvasses the neighborhood for anyone who knows anything. Sykes meets a girl who lets on where to find the stashed murder weapon. She tries to tell Sykes her name, but due to the gang's notoriety for killing witnesses, Sykes wants her to keep out of it. She reports in, not telling anyone about the girl, but Provenza senses she's holding something back. As the gun reveals prints belonging to another gang member, the girl calls Sykes to say the killer is back, looking for the gun. Sykes has her call the tip line but from a spot without video cameras. Her call gets the team wondering whether the guy they have is the shooter or not. Sykes finally tells them about the girl and the desire to protect her, but the D.A. says they don't have a case without her. Speculating that the guy they first brought in did an earlier killing and the guy the girl saw killed the others, they try getting the two men to turn on each other so they won't need the...
