Story
Cheyenne is in hiding from the Army as there are desertion charges against him as he left Custer's command. Irene Travers, Capt. Fred Benteen, and California Joe locate Cheyenne to ask him to return to testify for Maj. Marcus Reno who is facing charges for cowardice due to conflicting stories about the number of Indians Custer and Reno faced. Cheyenne learns that the one man Commissioner Brady, who can clear him, has died of a stroke. Brady asked Cheyenne to contact Sitting Bull as a Southern Cheyenne Chief. Cheyenne unwillingly comes to the aid of Major Reno as he knows the charges against him are false. The only true witness of the massacre, dressed as an Indian, Cheyenne says the Indians numbered 4-5,000, not just 900! He must convince the court that Custer was misled as to the true strength of the Indians at the Little Big Horn.
