Story
Cheyenne rides into the town of China Hat to follow up on a job he heard about. He runs into Del Swain who he arrested in Texas and is now running cattle talking to Burt Wrangel who had put out the job offer. He almost has to fight his way out of town because of this encounter. Outside town he is ambushed by Swain but shoots in self defense, killing him. Witnessed by the local Sheriff, Cheyenne rides on on the advice of the Sheriff. Outside town he runs into a stalled cattle drive and one of the hands drinking. He rides down to ask for a job finding a fresh grave and a pregnant woman Faith Swain who owns the herd with an unruly group of trail hands. The owner was just buried by his wife. The man who killed him: Cheyenne Bodie! Upon learning who she is, Cheyenne tries to leave but upon learning Cheyenne has ramrodded a cattle drive before, she begs him to stay. He joins the cattle drive under the name Ace Black proving his worth but soon discovers not all is as it seems.
