Story
Nehru describes emergence of different philosophical thoughts in India. These ideas are explained through dialogue between Nachiketa and Yama (Kathopanishad), Charvaka thoughts (as satirically provided in Krishna Mishra's play Prabodh Chandrodaya), Makkali Gosala's Ajivika sect, Jainism thoughts. Story of Prince Siddhartha becoming Buddha (depicted through Chhau dance, a semi classical dance form), his sermon in Kashi and encounter with and transforming Angulimala into Buddhist monk are depicted. Nehru concludes that, like many other civilizations, dichotomy between two thoughts, acceptance and negation of life, emerged in India but neither thought completely outclassed the other.
