Story
Ben spends a week in a tent outside and in the utterly isolated beach house of a New Zealand family, many miles of nearly impenetrable cold jungle from everywhere. Father Richard, a med-school dropout, moved into the abandoned wartime observation cabin and made it comfortable and became the UN heritage landscape's informal, government-approved minder. Ben's visits coincides with that of both children, recently graduated Christen, Richard's right hand while growing up, and a daughter still in boarding school. They are very self-reliant and earn enough for board and so on by harvesting and handicraft.
