Story
While the mothers must wait outside as their boys perform in choir, crones Elsie and Virginia recall life on the base just before and during World War II. Segregation was in force, yet already challenged by the war effort, otherwise similar characters were around, played by the same actors. Romance was even more intense, as troops were sent to the European war theater for months, years or never to return, whether after a wedding or not. On the home front, job substitution forced more equality, despite hostile bigot rowdies.
