Story

Paying a stranger 50 Francs to pose as his Uncle Derwent, in a ruse to get him aboard the Tiki, bound for the island of Mani Mani, young Albert spins an elaborate tale of being the son of Reverand Whitlesey, a missionary, and having four brothers and four sisters. Upon arrival on the island, the boy feigns illness and promptly disappears before Adam can return with his father. As the pieces of the puzzle begin to be assembled, it turns out that "Albert" is actually Robert Tomlinson, recently run away from his father -his real father- in Tahiti...
