Story
Muslim imam Mustapha Kara-Ali and Diwan Al Dawla is at the centre of a dispute with the local council over work undertaken on his property in Colo, New South Wales. Hawkesbury City Council have launched civil action against Kara-Ali and his brother Diaa in the Land and Environment Court, claiming all work done on the property so far has been done without developmental approval. Kara-Ali claims his religion is above Australian law, and believes the flag and coat of arms hold Christian symbolism which he refuses to acknowledge.
