Story
Leaving her husband and the Muslim world was the hardest thing mother-of-seven Nadia has ever done. But it got much worse. Because she was no longer Muslim, her sons wanted her dead. Nadia and her eldest daughter Allawea are now in hiding, after their family turned against them when the pair denounced Islam. She tells A Current Affair how she felt like an "animal" and a "slave" while practising Islam and says she hopes she'll inspire other female Muslims to free themselves from the religion.
