Story
Lucy becomes acting Director of Nursing and provokes a staff strike when she dismisses Janet, the kitchen hand, for petty theft. Cris argues with Lucy aver a simple remedy for Mr. Tribble. Tess, an archaeological student, upsets Cathy's romance with John. Esme is distraught by the discovery of nits in Jessie's hair. John stuns Cathy with a marriage proposal, she accepts and the whole of the Valley celebrate their wedding. Lucy resolves her problem with the help of Freda Spinner, an elderly patient in hospital after suffering as stroke. Matt and Lucy help Perce Hudson cope with the death of his wife. The town wave goodbye to Cathy and John as they head north to Kakadu.
