Story
Billy Boy Baines, a successful, young country singer whose target demographic is the subteen nine to fourteen year old age category, is currently in Los Angeles on tour, he traveling with his manager 'Deacon' Morton P. Franklin, a good ol' Oklahoma boy, and the Deacon's wife, Vicki Franklin, a southern belle who has probably never met a man or alcoholic beverage she didn't like. The Deacon, who prefers to be labeled as a builder or creator of talent in abhorring the ten percent connotation associated with the terms manager or agent, hires Rex, who has no idea who Billy Boy is in not being the target market, as Billy Boy has been receiving anonymous typewritten death threats, and a bullet just missed hitting him while he was in the Franklins' Los Angeles apartment. The Deacon refuses to get the police involved in not wanting the publicity.
