Story
Max and Caroline arrive at The Manhattan School of Pastry to find it has been suddenly shut down due to chef Nicolai returning to France. Deke has the brilliant idea to get his parents to invest in the school to keep it open, but that requires a visit and dinner with his parents and another couple they call friends. Things end up going south when Caroline is forced to give her last name, as Deke's parent's friends had lost money in her father's Ponzi scheme. This leads to an argument to where Max blurts out Deke's mom's past. Ultimately, Deke is forced by his parents to choose between their money or Max. He chooses Max, but Max reluctantly doesn't choose him, and makes a deal with his parents to give him back and move on.
