Story
Hans Weiman, receives an anonymous package on his 87th birthday from the United States. Opening the package, he finds an old worn out Wehrmacht notebook. Still scarred from the memories of the World War II, Hans flips through the pages of the Notebook, long suppressed memories surface and he suffers a sudden heart attack. Hans wakes up in a hospital bed, to find his family standing around him, anxious to find out about this notebook and its contents. As it turns out, the notebook belonged to Hans during the war. He used it to record his thoughts and emotions as a young man on the front, but he lost it few weeks later, after being seriously wounded during an attack in Russia. Where his own notes left off in the book, other writing continues on many more pages, filled with entries by different people in various languages. The family decides to translate the foreign entries in the notebook, uncovering the traumatic events during the war, that Hans was never willing to talk about until ...
